The phrase "That should take us about .......... 3 minutes to machine." ... is costing you money.
Not calculating your machining cycletime, no matter what cost estimating software you are using, is still GUESSTIMATING ... and is still producing incorrect cost estimates that are costing you money.
KipwareCYC® is a real world, proven-in-the-trenches cycletime estimating package that will make an immediate,
positive impact on your shop's bottom line. KipwareCYC® was developed in-the-trenches, on the shop floor, in a metalworking shop, by an actual machinist. It was further honed by a Manufacturing Engineer performing cycletime estimates in a high volume, production manufacturing environment ... where profit was made or lost every day with those estimates. And, since 1990, our cycletime estimating technology along with our KipwareQTE® quoting and estimating software has been assisting all size manufacturers not only win more work, but more profitable work !!!
KipwareQTE® ... is for COST estimating.
KipwareCYC® ... is for MACHINING CYCLETIME estimating.
KipwarePLN® ... is for MACHINE SHOP SCHEDULING.
KipwareTRK® ... is for QUOTATION TRACKING & ANALYZING.
COMBINE TWO OR COMBINE THEM ALL ... select your own, real world, MRP
solution using our Kipware® Suite combo package.

KipwareCYC®
Contains the following modules and features
- Database Manager
- The Database Manager is a module that allows users to easily build database files that contain the specifications for all your shop equipment that will be used in creating estimates as well as all the cutting parameters for all the various machining operations that will be estimated.
- Although KipwareCYC ships with some database information, users can freely edit or add data ... the capacity of all database files are unlimited.
- Database files are included for both machine specifications as well as cutting parameters to get you going quickly ... but we highly encourage users to build their database files on an as-you-go basis so that times more accurately reflect their specific shop parameters.
- INCH or METRIC settings are standard throughout KipwareCYC®.
- This design makes cycletimes estimating in the main module a simple task of selecting the machine ... selecting the material ... selecting the machining operation ... and KipwareCYC® performs all the related calculations automatically.
- Area available in the Database Manager include :
- Machine Specifications ... store your machine specification such as rapid traverse rates, turret index or ATC times, max spindle speeds ... specs that can easily be gathered through your manual or even through the internet.
- Machines types that can be included are :
- Milling
- Turning
- Live Tool Turning Centers
- Saw
- EDM and Watejet
- General
- Material Database ... store your cutting parameters for various machining operations. Each operation can include up to (5) sub categories allowing for flexibility and power ... without an unnecessary amount of complexity.
- Standard machining operations ... main categories include :
- Rough Milling
- Finish Milling
- Rough Turning
- Finish Turning
- Threading
- Grooving
- Drilling
- Tapping
- Reaming
- EDM-Waterjet
- User Defined #1
- User Defined #2
- Sawing Database ... our newly designed and enhanced sawing database allows users to easily include sawing times for square / rectangular solids ... round solid ... and tubing / pipe and structurals.
- Various printing and reporting options are available for all of the above areas.
- CycleTime Estimating Module
- This is the main KipwareCYC® module where cycletime estimates are created and reporting and other features are initiated.
- Creating a cycletime estimate involves stepping through the workpiece machining operations one by one. For each operation, the user simply :
- Selects the MACHINE from the database drop-down list
- Selects the MATERIAL from the database drop-down list
- Selects the main machining operations
- Selects the sub machining operation pertaining to the main operation
- Inputs pertinent data for that operation such as :
- Handling time if applicable
- Work or tool diameter
- Flute number if applicable
- Length of cut for the tool ... the included CUT LENGTH CALCULATOR module can be used to assist in this calculation.
- A description of the operation for reference
- KipwareCYC then performs all the calculations automatically including cutting parameters such as RPM, feedrate and in-the-cut time as well as machine specific times such as tool change, rapid time, index time, etc..
- Users can utilize the COPY LAST feature to reduce user input.
- Our CLC or Cut Length Calculator module is a fill-in-the-blank application that will quickly and easily calculate a tools length of cut for a wide variety of milling and turning operations.
- Using the OPERATION VIEW feature users can easily delete ... copy ... or change the order of machining operations. Users can also filter the operation view to include specific machines only.
- ROUTE SHEETS can be output automatically from any cycletime estimate and can include all operations and machines or can be output for only specific machines included in the estimate. Ouput can be either to the printer or to a CSV file.
- INCH or METRIC settings are standard throughout KipwareCYC®.
- Multi-User friendly - Users can set the software to point to a central location where the database files are stored so multiple users will be using the same data.
- What you get ...
- For the complete KipwareCYC® cost of $395, every user receives :
- (2) Seats ... users can install the software on (2) separate PC's and use them independently.
- Unlimited Tech support by phone or email for life.
- NO maintenance fees ... upgrades are usually priced in the $95 range.
- Access to our video training web page where users can view our video training series that teaches users how to use the software.
